Sooner or later you will come across a site designed in flash. If designed well, you will be able to browse the site without the necessity of installing flash, but you will possibly miss out on some of the functionality or design. Download and install Flash before needing it so you can avoid going through an installation when you don't have time for it. Remember to say no to the Google Toolbar unless you use it or want to.
